OTEI
Opportunity Through Education, Inc. (OTEI) is a private non-profit corporation formed in 2002 to provide part-day preschool services to the children of Selma. We believe that Opportunity in this great country comes to those that prepare for it, and the best preparation for success in life comes from getting the best Education possible. 90% of a child’s brain development occurs before they reach 5 years of age. This makes early education critical to stimulating your child’s brain and preparing them for learning at the elementary school level and beyond.
Opportunity Through Education Preschools are located on the campuses of Jackson Elementary and Wilson Elementary. Both are nationally-accredited programs and have received 4-star ratings with the Fresno County Office of Education. There is not a higher-rated and more academically-focused preschool in Selma than these two preschools. Our funding comes from a direct contract with the State of California Department of Education which has high expectations for maintaining a high-quality early-learning environment.
Our school year begins mid-August, when Selma Unified begins its academic school year, and finishes up at the end of June with a formal graduation ceremony. Our 3-hour sessions run from 8 am-11 am and 12:30 pm-3:30 pm. The cost of tuition is covered by the State for those families that qualify based on their income. For families that are over-income, preschool services are available at ECDC Preschools, our sister organization, on a private-pay basis. We are continuously enrolling children throughout the year, however we normally fill up by the beginning of the school year in August. So we encourage you not to wait to call us at (559) 891-1695 or email us at gianna.pritchett@ecdcpreschools.com to start the enrollment process or to ask any questions you may have!
